No mercy when it comes to traffic laws

011th Dec 2008Scannerland

This gem didn’t come across the scanner, but I overheard it at the police station this afternoon … close enough to be considered a Scannerland entry. A woman arrived at municipal court to argue a ticket that her husband or son (I didn’t hear which one) got a few weeks ago. Apparently, he was pulled over and ticketed for speeding, driving without a license and driving without insurance.

The frustrating part? Mr. Speedy was test-driving a car. The dealership made him leave his driver’s license at the office in order to test drive the car, and his insurance card did not provide proof that the vehicle he was driving was insured. The officer who pulled him over was apparently not amused by this, and he got a ticket (or three) anyway. Note to readers: Don’t violate traffic laws in someone else’s car. Period.
